About the Diabetes Prevention Forum (DPF)
Diabetes is estimated to affect approximately 53.2 million adults in Europe. This is expected to increase by over 10 million more adults to 64.1 million people by 2025 unless action is taken.
There is an urgent need to actively identify those people who are most at risk of developing diabetes. By making the correct lifestyle choices, many people who are at risk can help themselves prevent getting this potentially devastating disease.
The Diabetes Prevention Forum is a group of European experts in diabetes, bringing together doctors, nurses and lay members of associations representing people with diabetes. The group works to raise awareness of the prevention of type 2 diabetes, so actively helping the millions of people in Europe thought to be at risk.
The Diabetes Prevention Forum is an initiative of the International Diabetes Federation (Europe region).
